Brett
Bassano del Grappa, 2023
ph. Alessandro Saletta
Brett is a natural wine bar situated in Bassano del Grappa, a small town in the north of Italy. The shop is located on the ground floor of an historical building. The three frontal glass doors face one of the main squares of the city and allow passers-by to peek the shop from outside.
Various materials were already present and the layout has been left as it was such as the long wooden beams along the ceiling, the brick arch and the prominently checkered marble floor. The aim of the project is to infuse the furnishings in order to respect the original natural colors creating a combination between the strictness of the steel and the wood naturalness. Once inside, the shop visitors are greeted by the historic brick arch where a steel bench fits perfectly. The hole in the center has been designed to integrate in the room a big fiddle-leaf fig. The two tables have been placed suspended not to hide the charming floor in red Verona and white marble. The main rounded counter embellished with a disc table on the left side has been designed to provide a convivial atmosphere between the customer and the host. The two tailored hidden lights above the counter, blend in with the cup holders to create an optical game that reflects the brightness of the room. The design is the result of a collaboration between Etiam Studio and Mingardo official, a creative metal carpentery, who realized the entire project. Particularly the Brugola chair, a steel dark seating that frames the room indiscreetly.
